SINGLE CAB PICK-UP TRUCK VS. POWER POLE
October 5, 2015 at approximately 9:32pm; A solo vehicle accident occurred on Lone Tree Road near Campbell resulting in the death of the driver of the vehicle. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene. Escalon Fire, Police, Ambulance, Chp and San Joaquin Sheriff’s units responded and blocked off the roadway. The Coroner was called to the accident scene.
The driver of the truck was traveling East bound on Lone Tree Road approaching Campbell and for some reason lost control. It appeared as if the vehicle drifted to the left, into the ditch and rolled over several times before striking the power pole.
The damage to the power pole resulted in loss of electrical power to areas in and outside of the City limits. PG&E personnel responded and had the power back on about 12:38am.
The identity of the person is still pending.
