Escalon Winds combined with tree limbs equals downed line.
At approximately 8:50am this morning, Escalon Police, Fire Crews and City Public Works responded to the call of downed powerlines. They quickly blocked off the corner of Sanchez Way at Tokay Avenue and determined that PG&E should be notified. It appears that wind and tree limbs rubbing on the line is what caused the support cable to snap and bring down the line. On arrival a PG&E employee determined that the downed line posed no major threat. There is a high-wind warning in effect for today from the hours of 10am to 8pm issued by the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services this morning.
