BBVA Compass Bank on McHenry Avenue was Robbed at High Noon.

Case 16-358 

At approximately 12:04 PM today, April 18, 2016, the BBVA Compass Bank on McHenry Ave in Escalon was the scene of a robbery. A suspect described as a white male, in his 20’s, with an approximate height of 5 10 and weight of 170, with what appeared to be a bleached blonde ponytail wig, wearing a white and gray flannel button up shirt, jeans, and black baseball hat entered the bank and approached one of the bank employees. The subject presented a note demanding money. The employee complied with the note, and the suspect left the bank, and was last seen headed east on Narcissus.

Shortly after this took place, witnesses saw the suspect near Edgetown and Narcissus and a cloud of red smoke suddenly appeared, indicating the possibly of a dye pack detonation. It is unknown if the suspect was injured when this took place. The suspect continued to run to an older model small Nissan pickup green in color parked on Edgetown. He entered the passenger side and the vehicle drove away. The driver of the vehicle was described as a white male, possibly in his late 30’s and wearing a white shirt. The vehicle fled the area and the witnesses attempt to follow the vehicle losing sight of it in the area of Hwy 120 and Brennan. They believed it went westbound on Brennan.

No one was injured in the robbery, and no weapons were seen. The amount of money taken will not be disclosed at this time. Some cash was recovered in the area of Edgetown and Narcissus, as well as along Brennan Ave after we received a report from a witness who was riding her horse along Brennan who discovered the currency along the edge of the roadway.
