SOLO VEHICLE VS. POLE AT MCHENRY ROUNDABOUT.

Escalon, California:  On April 29,2016 at approximately 12:13pm.  A solo vehicle accident occurred when the driver of a vehicle was unable to negotiate the McHenry roundabout on McHenry Avenue at River Road.  

Emergency personnel responded to a solo vehicle accident where the driver was unable to complete the roundabout and struck a nearby light pole head-on. The vehicle hit the pole with enough force that it snapped the pole in half and brought down the powerlines. The downed lines caused River Road to be closed to eastbound and westbound traffic. The roadway remained closed until PG&E was able to remove the powerlines. The airbags in the vehicle did deploy and the driver was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. The accident also cause delays for traffic on Northbound and Southbound McHenry Avenue.
