PUBLIC NOTICE – NOTICE OF ELECTION
Notice is hereby given that a CONSOLIDATED GENERAL ELECTION will be held in the City of Escalon, County of San Joaquin, State of California, on Tuesday, November 08, 2016, for the following offices; For TWO (2) Members of the City Council (FULL-TERM of four years). The POLLS will be open between the hours of 7:00am and 8:00pm. The first day to secure and file nomination papers is Monday, July 18, 2016, between the hours of 8:00am to 12:00am (noon) and 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The last day to secure and file papers is Friday, August 12, 2016, between the hours of 8:00am to 12:00 (Noon) and 1:00pm to 5:00pm in the event a current officeholder has not filed nomination papers, the nomination period for that office shall be extended to Wednesday, August 17, 2016. Nomination papers can be secured by appointment at the City Clerk’s office at 2060 McHenry Avenue in the City of Escalon by calling (209)691-7421. If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective may be made as prescribed by Elections Code-10229, Election Code of the State of California.
