Canine alerts to large amount of heroin during traffic stop.

Modesto, CA – A patrol officer and his canine partner assisted in the recovery of a large amount of heroin during a traffic stop on Highway 99.
Yesterday afternoon, officers stopped a Nissan Titan traveling northbound Highway 99 at Kansas Avenue for a traffic violation. During the stop, K-9 Cash was deployed and alerted his handler to possible drugs in the vehicle. Patrol officers, with the assistance of the Modesto Narcotics Enforcement Team (MNET), obtained a search warrant for the truck. During the search, officers recovered 38 kilos of heroin with an estimated street value of over $2 million.
The driver, 63-year-old Kathleen Landry of the Langley area of British Columbia, Canada, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sales and transportation of a controlled substance.
