MOTORCYCLE REAR ENDS VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY 120 THIS MORNING.
August 13, 2016 at approximately 10:58 this morning, there was a collision involving a fully dressed Harley Davidson motorcycle and a grey Toyota minivan. Both vehicles were eastbound on Highway 120 between Van Allen and Sexton Roads when the accident occurred. California Highway Patrol, Escalon Fire, and Escalon Community Ambulance Services responded to the accident.
A witness to the accident stated the man riding the Harley motorcycle failed to notice the vehicles in front of him slowing for another vehicle making a left-hand turn from Highway 120 and collided with the rear end of the grey Toyota minivan. The impact of the motorcycle tore off the rear bumper of the van and sent the rider tumbling to the ground. The rider of the motorcycle was transported by ambulance to Doctor’s Hospital in Modesto with moderate to major injuries. It appeared there were no immediate injuries to the family in the minivan. Traffic was backed up in both directions even though the two vehicles involved in the accident were on the right-hand shoulder of the highway.
