Vehicle Versus Tree on McHenry Avenue

Escalon, California – The Escalon Police, Fire and Community Ambulance Services responded to a report of an accident involving a solo vehicle versus tree.

The accident was reported about 3:18 p.m. yesterday afternoon on McHenry Avenue between E. Clough Avenue and Jones Road.  Escalon Police Department is the primary investigating agency in this vehicle accident.

When emergency personnel arrived at the crash site they found the vehicle on the east side of the roadway next to a tree.  It appeared the vehicle was traveling northbound on McHenry Avenue when the accident occurred.  It was reported that the driver may have suffered some type of a medical emergency before veering off the road and hitting the tree head on.  It was unclear if the driver received any injuries from the actual accident.  One person was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

There was major damage to the front end of the vehicle and the airbags did deploy.  Traffic on McHenry Avenue was uninterrupted and tow services were called out to tow the damaged vehicle away.
