On April 10, 2017; Escalon Police Officers were dispatched to Dollar General for a report of 2 suspicious persons, a male and woman. Officer Lackey was first on scene and contacted a man, who will not be named, and a woman, who was later identified as Dallas Jones, 36, from Oakdale. Dallas initially provided Officer Lackey with a false name. As the officer was gathering information about the nature of the suspicious circumstance, Dallas managed to flee the scene. A search of a purse that was left at the scene contained Dallas’s identification and drug paraphernalia. Dallas also had 3 outstanding warrants for her arrest totaling $211,000.00. The male was later released without charges.
On April 11, 2017; Officer Lackey was able to track Dallas to an address in the area of Sawyer Road and River Road. When officers made contact at the residence, Dallas fled on foot towards the Stanislaus River and swam across in an attempt to escape. She was unable to ascend the south bank of the river and was apprehended when she swam back to the north bank of the river.
Dallas was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail where she is being held without bail.
