ESCALON TO BAN ALL SALES RELATED BUSINESSES, OUTDOOR GROWS AND PLACE HEAVY RESTRICTIONS ON INDOOR GROWS
The City of Escalon will hold a public hearing on a citywide marijuana ban related to businesses, sales, outdoor grows, and restrictions on indoor grows at the August 07, 2017 Council Meeting.

Consideration of Ordinance that Bans all Marijuana-Related Businesses, Including Marijuana Dispensaries, Delivery Services, any Marijuana Retail Services and Outdoor Cultivation, along with Restrictions Regarding Cultivation of Indoor Recreational Marijuana, within the Limits Allowed due to the Passage of the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA).

Crap I’m gonna come out bluntly the people that think pot is bad hello ignorant Americans u have been brain washed pot is one of the highest antioxidants there is it’s proven not any harm to any one it kills and prevents cancer I can make all u people with an education make u feel like u need to go bak again pot is a sacred plant it was here B.C.

The issue with Cannabis Prohibition is that it was built on a lie. Only since 1970 and thanks to Nixon has it been federally illegal. Before that Cannabis had many uses as medicine, hemp stocks for rope and other uses. We even used it in WW2, google “Hemp for Victory.” William Hearst, Dupont, the Reagan’s have all had a part in twisting Americans perception of Cannabis. in fact to this day the US govt holds a Patent on Cannabis as a medicine, US Patent: 6630507. Unfortunately in Escalon our City Council is pretty much the same 8 guys up there rotating out every other year. No one new from the younger generations has stepped up to bring new progressive ideas to our VERY conservative city government and with that you get problems like this. The rest of the state and many other states have determined that Cannabis is actually not as bad as we’ve been lead to believe, but yet our good OLD city council is doing their best to make Escalon the next Bomont (the city from footloose). How about instead of focusing time and energy on banning a plant lets do something about all these empty buildings in this town? how about controlled rent for start ups? I mean you can only keep this town so small before you chase off all the youth.
