Two-Vehicle Injury Accident on Escalon Bellota Road at Lone Tree Road.

Escalon, California – Two California Highway Patrol units were dispatched to a report of a traffic collision around 2:29 p.m. this afternoon. The accident had occurred at the intersection of Escalon Bellota Road and Lone Tree Road. The crash involved a dark grey Honda Pilot and a tan colored Acura 3.0CL. Escalon Fire Department and two Escalon Community Ambulances were also dispatched to the collision. California Highway Patrol is the primary investigating agency in this accident.
California Highway Patrol Officer Arellano said the driver and passenger of the Honda were traveling northbound on Escalon Bellota Road and the driver of the Acura was traveling eastbound on Lone Tree Road when the collision occurred. The collision happened in the intersection of Escalon Bellota Road and Lone Tree Road. The California Highway Patrol officers on scene were still investigating how the accident happened and determining who was at fault. The impact caused major damage to the front end and some side body damage to both vehicles.
Both drivers and passenger involved in the accident were checked by Escalon emergency medical technicians on scene. California Highway Patrol Officer Arellano reported unknown injuries to both drivers and no reported injuries by the passenger. Officer Arellano also said both drivers were transported by ambulance from the crash site to a nearby hospital. It appeared no other vehicles had been involved in the accident.
The accident caused delays to the afternoon traffic in both northbound and southbound lanes of Escalon Bellota Road with traffic backing up in both directions. Traffic was reduced to one lane of travel. The Acura and emergency vehicles were blocking the northbound lane of Escalon Bellota Road and the Honda was off the roadway in the northeast corner of the intersection. Traffic traveling east and west on Lone Tree Road, through the intersection of Escalon Bellota Road, was also delayed by the accident. There was some debris in the intersection causing issues. McDowell tow services was called out to remove both vehicles from the crash site.
