Head-On Injury Accident on Escalon Bellota Road at Lone Tree Road.

Escalon, California – California Highway Patrol was dispatched to a report of a traffic collision at approximately 5:35 p.m. The accident occurred on Escalon Bellota Road at the intersection of Lone Tree Road. The crash involved a white Pontiac Vibe and a blue Subaru Impreza. Escalon Fire Department, ambulance services from Escalon and Manteca were also dispatched to the collision. California Highway Patrol is the primary investigating agency in this accident.

Witnesses on scene said the driver of the Pontiac was traveling northbound and the driver of the Subaru was traveling southbound on Escalon Bellota Road when the collision occurred. It appeared to the witnesses that the driver of the Pontiac was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran a red light at the intersection while the driver of the Subaru was making a left (East) turn onto Lone Tree Road. The Pontiac collided head-on with the Subaru spinning the vehicle all the way around in the other direction, both vehicles came to rest in the northbound lane of Escalon Bellota Road.

Both drivers involved in the accident were checked and treated by Escalon emergency medical technicians on scene. An ambulance from Manteca District Ambulance Service arrived on scene to assist and transport the driver of the Pontiac with minor to moderate injuries to the hospital. The driver of the Subaru also suffered minor to moderate injuries and was transported by Escalon Community Ambulance Services to the hospital. It appeared no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The California Highway Patrol officers gathered information from the witnesses and details from the accident scene to determine how the collision occurred and who was at fault. The impact caused major damage to the front end of both vehicles.

The accident caused some delays to the evening traffic in both directions of Escalon Bellota Road while the California Highway Patrol Officers investigated the accident. The involved vehicles were partially blocking the northbound lane of Escalon Bellota Road. There was also some debris and oil in the roadway causing issues.

One of the CHP officers cleared the roadway by pushing the Subaru from the northbound lane to the east side of the road with his patrol vehicle. Tow services was called out to remove both of the vehicles from the crash site.
