Early Morning Residential Fire
WeEscalon
March 27, 2018
On March 26, 2018 at approximately 02:18 a.m., the Escalon Consolidated Fire Protection District responded to the call of a working structure fire at 19777 McHenry Avenue. On arrival, Escalon called for mutual aid and multiple agencies responded. The fire was difficult to get to due to downed power lines that were popping and throwing sparks everywhere. Eventually, PG&E showed up to cut the power to the lines and firefighters were able to get closer to the structure to put out the fire.
Luckily for the resident, she was alerted by her dogs. The resident, along with the dogs, was able to safely escape the fire. It was said that the smoke alarm did not activate until they were already headed out the door. These are photos of the aftermath.
