ESCALON VEHICLE STOP LEADS TO ARREST

On 2/19/19 just after midnight, Officer Smith initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation. Upon contacting the driver, Jorge Martinez, 22 years old, from Oakdale, he noticed that Jorge displayed objective symptoms of intoxication.
Jorge was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence and an outstanding warrant for his arrest. In Jorge’s vehicle Officer Smith located prescription medication, for which Jorge did not have a prescription, and evidence of the manufacturing of “honey oil” (Concentrated cannabis).
Jorge was subsequently booked into the San Joaquin county jail for manufacturing honey oil, possessing a controlled substance without a prescription, driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license for DUI, and the outstanding warrant for his arrest. He is being held on $240,000.00 bail
