Sunday Night’s Traffic Collision on Highway 120 at Steinegul Road Sends Multiple Victims to the Hospital

ESCALON, CALIFORNIA — California Highway Patrol was investigating an injury accident late Sunday night following a collision involving a full size Ford pickup truck and a four door midsize sedan.  


The collision was reported about 9:17 p.m. on Highway 120 at Steinegul Road.  CHP Officers, Escalon Police Officers, Escalon Fire Personnel, Paramedics from Escalon, Manteca and Oakdale responded to the scene.  

On arrival the paramedics treated multiple victims with minor to moderate injuries.  Some of the victims were transported to nearby hospitals with unknown injuries.


Both vehicles were heading eastbound on Highway 120 approaching Steinegul Road when the accident occurred.  The driver of the Ford pickup was attempting to make a left hand turn from Highway 120 onto Steinegul Road when it was struck from behind by the driver of the sedan who failed to stop or avoid the turning truck.


There were some traffic delays in the area due to the vehicle and debris in the roadway. Escalon Fire Personnel along with McDowell and Davis towing services were able to clean up the debris and remove the vehicle from the roadway quickly.  Traffic soon returned to normal.


The California Highway Patrol used one of their patrol units to push the damaged vehicle to the side of the roadway.  Where tow services were able to load the vehicle onto the back of the Tow Truck.
